More Jet2 Flights to the Canary Islands

The budget UK airline, Jet2, is increasing its flights to the Canary Islands with the opening of a new aircraft base in Lanzarote.

Jet2 will be basing a Boeing 737-800 aircraft in Lanzarote from November 2016 onwards, in preparation for a busy 2016-2017 winter season when the company will increase the number of flights between Lanzarote and the UK. Capacity is expected to increase by 30% for the summer of 2016, with an additional increase in capacity of 35% in 2017.

Jet2 already services the island directly from bases in Leeds, Glasgow, Manchester, Belfast, East Midlands, Blackpool and Newcastle. The airline has 92.8% load factor, which is one of the highest rates of any airline serving the region.

Further services announced for 2016/4 include:

Increased number of flights to Gran Canaria from Glasgow, Leeds, and Manchester in both summer and winter season timetables,

Increased frequency of flights to Lanzarote from Manchester, Glasgow Newcastle, East Midlands, and Belfast,

Fuerteventura will benefit from a new service in April 2017 when the company begins flights from Leeds, Glasgow and Manchester, Increased frequency of flights to Tenerife from Glasgow, Leeds Manchester, Newcastle, East Midlands, and Blackpool.
